STEWART RAFFIL

A successful writer/director, Raffill’s career has spanned over 3 decades. Immigrating to the United States from Britain in 1961, Raffill hit the ground running with his first film; Napoleon and Samantha, a family feature made for Disney Studios starring American acting icons, Michael Douglas and Jodie Foster.

His following film The Adventures of the Wilderness Family still ranks in the hearts of many as one of the greatest most endearing family films ever made, and remains on Variety Magazine’s top 50 “All-time most successful films in movie history” joining the ranks of such masterpieces as Gone With the Wind, Dr. Zhivago and ET.

Raffill has written and directed over 14 theatrically released films, some of which include; the follow up to Adventures of the Wilderness Family (Recipient of Outstanding Merit by Southern California Motion Picture Council), The Philadelphia Experiment (Winner Best Science Fiction Film at Rome Film Festival), Sea Gypsies (Winner Award of Excellence by Motion Picture Film Advisory Board), The New Swiss Family Robinson (Netted best Wonderful World of Disney rating on ABC for the year), Mannequinn 2, Mac and Me, Grizzly Falls, and Ice Pirates. Raffill also wrote the immensely popular blockbuster movie Passenger 57 starring Wesley Snipes. The list of those he has directed is a veritable list of Hollywood’s Who’s Who and includes many Academy Award Winning Actors like; Michael Douglas, Anthony Quinn, Angelica Houston, Richard Harris, Jodie Foster, Jane Seymour, James Brolin, and Bryan Brown.

No stranger to the stage of production, Raffill has worked exclusively in the motion picture industry since his arrival from England. In addition to acute writing and directing skills, Raffill is also an experienced cameraman, editor, stuntman, animal supervisor and trainer. His passion for filming and working with wildlife in his movies has labeled him a specialist of this genre of film. Raffill loves animals and like a list from Noah’s Arc, has worked with just about every kind including; Grizzly Bears, tigers, lions, exotic snakes, wolves and jaguars.

Like a modern day explorer, a 10-minute conversation with Raffill will lead you on a trip around the world to the many different locations he has filmed. He’ll entertain you with his adventures from places like, Africa, Brazil, Spain, Jamaica, and Mexico.
